key verse 1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
I’ve never thought – well I have actually – but I am reminded again…. of the power of the WORD (Pro 18:21 “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. ” and “The pen is mightier than the sword” Edward Bulwer-Lytton)
Words change our hearts, our minds and our actions (if we allow it) which change the world around us.
Words are the communicating aspect of existence (I AM). And that purposeful intent to communicate the truth about the nature of what it takes for relationship, was “in the beginning”! I don’t think that I am at all doing this thought justice – but how God – relationship – communicating – trinity all have to do with WORDS and WORDS have to do with community. It has really stopped me in my tracks today.
What a great place to start journaling – with words – reflecting on THE WORD.
key verses 35-37: “The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.”
Are we paying attention enought so that we recognize God when He walks by?
Are we preparing ourselves to leave what we are doing when we see Him to go follow Him? (verses 29-34)
Are we spending time with people we trust – so that when THEY point Him out we would have the confidence to change directions and follow?
Am I? Will I? Do I?
